## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON JANUARY 1, 2009, AT APPROXIMATELY 2225Z (1625 LOCAL TIME), A PRIVATE PILOT WAS INVOLVED IN AN AIRCRAFT INCIDENT RESULTING FROM A GEAR-UP LANDING AT THE SALINA AIRPORT (KSLN), SALINA, KANSAS. THE AIRCRAFT INVOLVED IN THIS INCIDENT IS A BE-36-A36 BONANZA, WHICH IS OWNED BY THE AIRMAN. THE AIRMAN INDICATED THAT A CLEARANCE WAS ISSUED FOR A TOUCH AND GO LANDING ON RUNWAY 36, AS DEPARTING TRAFFIC WAS UTILIZING RUNWAY 35. INITIALLY, THE AIRMAN MISTAKENLY TURNED ONTO FINAL APPROACH FOR RUNWAY 35, BUT WAS SUBSEQUENTLY INSTRUCTED TO AMEND HIS APPROACH FOR RUNWAY 36. ACCORDING TO THE AIRMAN, AN ELECTRONIC CHECKLIST WAS UTILIZED DURING THE ARRIVAL: HOWEVER THE AIRMAN ADMITTEDLY FAILED TO COMPLETE THE CHECKLIST. THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED MINOR DAMAGE UPON LANDING GEAR UP. THE AIRMAN, WHO WAS THE SOLE OCCUPANT IN THE AIRCRAFT, DID NOT SUSTAIN ANY INJURIES. NO ADDITIONAL DAMAGE OR SYSTEM FAILURE WAS NOTED BY AIRWORTHINESS AND OPERATIONS INSPECTORS FROM THE WICHITA FSDO, WHOM CONDUCTED A POST-INCIDENT INSPECTION.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
