AFTER 9 MINUTES INTO THE FLIGHT THE PILOT REPORTED A POWER LOSS THAT APPEARED TO BE FUEL STARVATION. THE AIRCRAFT IMPACTED TREES IN THE REDWOOD REGIONAL PARK, OAKLAND, CA. THE CRASH SITE IS 3.5 MILES AT 026 DEGREES FROM THE OAKLAND AIRPORT. THE AIRPLANE WAS DESTROYED. ## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR09LA071](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR09LA071), Jan 3, 2009: PZL PZL-104 35A (N226PF), Oakland, CA, substantial damage. Probable cause: A loss of engine power due to fuel exhaustion as a result of the pilot’s inadequate preflight planning.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
