## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT OF N504JL, A LANCAIR MODEL LC-41 TAXIIED TO THE SELF SERVE FUEL PUMP AT SUN. BECAUSE OF AN INJURED LEG THE PASSENGER GOT OUT OF THE AIRCRAFT AND PUMPED THE FUEL. UPON START UP THE PILOT TAXIIED STRAIGHT FORWARD INTO A TRAFFIC CONE WHICH WAS PLACED ON TOP OF THE FILL PORT FOR THE UNDERGROUND SELF SERVE FUEL STORAGE TANK. THAT CONE IS ALWAYS IN THAT POSITION AND IS NOT A NEW ITEM AT THE SELF SERVE FUEL PUMP. UPON INVESTIGATION OF THE INCIDENT IT WAS REVEALED THAT THEY REPLACE THAT CONE ALL THE TIME BECAUSE AN AIRCRAFT TAXIING INTO IT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
