## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PER ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ STATEMENT, HE WAS PRACTICING A POWER-OFF 180 DEGREE ACCURACY LANDING. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ LEFT THE LANDING GEAR IN THE UP POSITION WHILE PERFORMING THIS MANEUVER TO PREVENT “THE DRAG AND SINK CREATED BY LOWERING THE GEAR”. ADDITIONALLY ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ STATED “I ALLOWED MYSELF TO GET COMFORTABLE AND MAKE THE MENTAL ERROR OF ASSUMING I HAD ALREADY PUT THE GEAR DOWN ONCE I WAS CLOSE ENOUGH TO THE RUNWAY TO MAKE THE LANDING”. ULTIMATELY THE GEAR WAS NEVER DEPLOYED RESULTING IN A GEAR UP LANDING. FAA POST INCIDENT INVESTIGATION OF THE SUBJECT AIRCRAFT CONFIRMS THIS OBSERVATION. AIRCRAFT DAMAGE WAS TO BOTH PROPELLERS, THE NOSE GEAR DOORS ALL UNDERBELLEY ANTENNAS, THE RIGHT WING TIE DOWN AND THE LEFT AND RIGHT ENTRY FOOT STEPS.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
