## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

A COLLISION OCCURRED IN A NON-MOVEMENT AREA OF THE ANCHORAGE AIRPORT BETWEEN A BLUE 1940 TAYLORCRAFT BL-65 TAXIED BY PILOT STEPHEN E. KEEGAN III, AND A BLACK FORD F250 PICKUP OPERATED BY PEGASUS, INC., DRIVEN BY EMPLOYEE ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^. THE AIRMAN WAS REPOSITIONING THE AIRCRAFT FROM THE LAKE HOOD EAST PARKING AREA TO THE NORTH AIR PARK ON THE NORTH SIDE OF THE ANCHORAGE AIRPORT. THE AIRMAN STATED THAT HE WAS CLEARED TO TAXI THE AIRCRAFT FROM THE LAKE HOOD PARKING AREA VIA TAXIWAY VICTOR TO TAXIWAY ROMEO AND HOLD SHORT. THERE IS NO ATC AUDIO OF THAT CLEARANCE ON EITHER THE LAKE HOOD FREQUENCY (126.80) OR ANCHORAGE GROUND CONTROL (121.9). JUST PRIOR TO REACHING TAXIWAY ROMEO, THE TAYLORCRAFT WAS STRUCK ON THE LEFT WING BY A BLACK PEGASUS, INC., FORD F250 PICKUP TRUCK HEADING SOUTHBOUND AND TURNING EASTBOUND ONTO TAXIWAY VICTOR. THE VEHICLE DRIVER WAS FOLLOWING A DEICING TRUCK, AND STATED THAT HE DID NOT SEE THE AIRCRAFT UNTIL JUST PRIOR TO IMPACT. THE AREA WHERE THE COLLISION OCCURRED IS A BLIND SPOT FOR BOTH AIRCRAFT AND VEHICLES, AND IT WAS EXACERBATED BY LOW VISIBILITY DUE TO DARKNESS, BLOWING SNOW, POOR TRAFFIC CONTROL SIGNAGE AND POOR LIGHTING. ALSO, AN INBOUND AIR CANADA HAD DECLARED AN EMERGENCY AND THE EMERGENCY RESPONSE VEHICLES WERE MOBILIZED, ADDING TO THE LIGHT POLLUTION.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
