## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

A NORTH AMERICAN T-6G AIRCRAFT WAS DEPARTING ON RUNWAY 27 AT WEISER AIR PARK (EYQ) CYPRESS, TX. A ROBINSON R-22 HELICOPTER WAS PERFORMING HOVER AUTOS AND A QUICK STOP ON THE PARALLEL TAXIWAY. THE PARALLEL TAXIWAY IS VERY CLOSE TO THE RUNWAY. THE HELICOPTER WAS ON THE GO AND CLIMBING OUT WHEN THE MAIN ROTOR BLADE OF THE HELICOPTER STRUCK THE LEFT WING OF THE DEPARTING AIRCRAFT AT AN ESTIMATED ALTITUDE OF 40 FEET IN THE AIR. A SMALL SECTION OF THE LEFT WING OF THE AIRCRAFT WAS SEVERED AND THE SECTION OF THE WING LANDED ON THE RUNWAY. THERE WAS EXTENSIVE DAMAGE TO THE MAIN ROTOR OF THE HELICOPTER. IT DESCENDED RAPIDLY TO THE GROUND AND CAME TO REST ON THE PARALLEL TAXIWAY. THE HELICOPTER SUSTAINED SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE. THE LEFT SKID WAS FLATTENED, THE TAIL BOOM WAS WRINKLED, AND THE TAIL ROTOR BLADES SEPARATED, THE BUBBLE WAS BROKEN AND THE PILOT SEATS WERE FLATTENED. THE T-6 CONTINUED THE TAKEOFF AND REMAINED IN THE TRAFFIC PATTERN AND RETURNED FOR A LANDING ON RUNWAY 27.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN09LA149](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN09LA149), Jan 31, 2009: North American T-6G (N51KT), Cypress, TX, minor damage. Probable cause: Both pilot's failure to see and avoid the other aircraft.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
