## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

CGHVM FLOWN BY PILOT IN COMMAND, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^, DEVIATED FROM ASSIGNED ALTITUDE OF FL250 AND CONFLICTED WITH AN E145 AT FL260. THE INCIDENT OCCURRED 20 NM NE OF ELLWOOD CITY VOR. PILOT STATED IN AN INTERVIEW THAT HE WAS PREOCCUPIED BY A MALFUNCTION IN THE AUTOPILOT AND ADDITIONAL FAILURE OF THE MULTI-FUNCTION DISPLAY. FURTHER INTERVIEWS REVEALED THE AUTOPILOT WAS NOT INSTALLED IN THE AIRCRAFT AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
