## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE AIRCRAFT BEGAN TAKEOFF ON RUNWAY 25. IT CLIMBED TO APPROXIMATELY 100 FEET AND LOST ENGINE POWER. MOMENTARILY THE AIRCRAFT REGAINED FULL POWER AND THE PILOT BEGAN A LEFT TURN TO RETURN TO THE AIRPORT. SUBSEQUENTLY THE ENGINE LOST POWER ONCE AGAIN, STRIKING THE TOPS OF A SET OF TREES, CONTINUING 100 FEET FURTHER AND STRIKING A SECOND SET OF TREE TOPS. AT THAT POINT THE AIRCRAFT DESCENDED APPROXIMATELY 25 FEET AND CRASHED INTO THE BACK YARD OF A HOME ACROSS THE STREET AND ADJACENT TO THE AIRPORT. A SMALL FIRE DEVELOPED IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND WAS DISTINGUISHED BY A LOCAL RESIDENT WITH A FIRE EXTINGUISHER.
