## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

A NON-CERTIFICATED UNQUALIFIED OWNER BOARDED A RECENTLY PURCHASED EXPERIMENTAL GYROCOPTER TO PERFORM A GROUND RUN ON THE AIRCRAFT THAT HE HAD NO EXPERIENCE ON. ONCE THE ENGINE STARTED AND HE BOARDED THE AIRCRAFT IT STARTED MOVING FORWARD THEN MADE A SHARP RIGHT TURN AND ENTERED THE HANGER IMPACTING THE HANGER DOOR FROM THE INSIDE COMING TO A STOP. THE INDIVIDUAL STEPPED OUT OF THE AIRCRAFT AND TURNED DIRECTLY INTO THE RUNNING PUSHER PROPELLER SEVERING HIS LEFT SHOULDER RESULTING IN HIS DEATH. THERE WERE NO WITNESSES TO THIS EVENT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
