## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AIRMAN DEPARTED AKRON CANTON AIRPORT (KCAK) ON AN IFR FLIGHT PLAN WITH AN UNRESTRICTED CLIMB TO 8,000 FEET MSL. WHILE IN THE ENROUTE CLIMB, AIRMAN ENTERED LIGHT ICING CONDITIONS FROM 4,000 FEET MSL TO 6,000 MSL AND LEVELED OFF AT 8,000 FEET MSL IN THE CLEAR. AFTER SEVERAL MINUTES AT CRUISE ALTITUDE, AIRMAN STATED THE ENGINE BEGAN TO VIBRATE AND THEN SUDDENLY LOST POWER. AIRMAN GLIDED AIRCRAFT TO THE AIRPORT AND ARRIVED APPROXIMATELY 233 FEET SHORT OF RUNWAY 27.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
