DURING THE COURSE OF THIS INVESTIGATION BOTH LEFT AND RIGHT WING FUEL TANKS WERE SUMPED AND IT WAS DETERMINED THAT BOTH TANKS WERE CONTAMINATED WITH WATER. ON THE LEFT WING TANK ¾ OF WATER CAME OUT FOLLOWED BY ½ QUART OF FUEL. THE OVER THE WING FUEL QUANTITY GAUGE SHOWED 6 GALLONS REMAINING IN THE LEFT TANK. ON THE RIGHT WING TANK ONLY A QUART OF WATER CAME OUT FOLLOWED BY RESIDUAL FUEL. THE OVER THE WING FUEL QUANTITY GAUGE SHOWED 0 GALLONS REMAINING IN THE TANK. SUSPECT FUEL MISMANAGEMENT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
