## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON FEBRUARY 26, 2009, N170DN, A ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ DAYTON SUPER CUB EXPERIMENTAL AIRCRAFT, DEPARTED A FARM FIELD APPROXIMATELY 20 MILES SOUTH OF GUYMON, OKLAHOMA. AIRCRAFT WAS ENROUTE TO GUYMON MUNICIPAL AIRPORT (GUY). DURING TAKE-OFF THE LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR SHOCK STRUT ROD SEPARATED. THE PILOT DECIDED TO CONTINUE THE FLIGHT TO GUY AND CALLED FOR FIRE AND RESCUE. THE PILOT LANDED ON THE NORTHEAST GRASSY SIDE OF RUNWAY 06. THE DISLODGED AIRCRAFT TUNDRA TIRE AND/OR LANDING GEAR SHOCK STRUT ROD IMPALED THE GROUND CAUSING THE AIRCRAFT TO NOSE OVER 180 DEGREES ON THE LEFT WING. AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST ON THE UPPER WING SURFACE AND RUDDER ASSEMBLY. PILOT’S CENTER FORWARD CROSS-OVER TUBE, LEFT WINDOW CENTER POST FUSELAGE FRAME, AND RUDDER WERE DAMAGED DURING THE NOSE OVER. DURING THIS INSPECTION WE WERE UNABLE TO DETERMINE IF LEFT WING FORWARD OR REAR SPAR WERE DAMAGED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
