## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE AIRCRAFT'S LH MAIN GEAR CONTACTED THE GRASS OFF THE LH SIDE OF RUNWAY 14 AND SUBSEQUENTLY SHEARED OFF THE LH MAIN GEAR. THE AIRCRAFT CONTINUED DOWN THE RUNWAY AND VEERED INTO THE GRASS ON THE LH SIDE OF THE RUNWAY COMING TO REST APPROXIMATELY 2000 FEET FROM THE THRESHOLD.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA09CA190](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA09CA190), Mar 9, 2009: Piper PA-42 (N28DA), Belmar, NJ, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's improper flare, which resulted in a hard landing.

## Other reports on N28DA (1)

- [Incident 19980701020789I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19980701020789I), Jul 1, 1998: Piper PA42 (N28DA), Zelienople, PA. Lost electrical power near yng destination. Landed 8G7. Battery had failed.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
