## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON MARCH 16, 2009 AT APPROXIMATELY 1750 MDT, N172UP, AN AIRBUS A3004-622R OPERATED BY UNITED PARCEL SERVICE WAS LANDING ON RUNWAY 3 AT THE ALBUQUERQUE SUNPORT (ABQ) WHEN THE ANTISKID SYSTEM MALFUNCTIONED RESULTING IN ALL 8 MAIN LANDING GEAR TIRES FAILING DUE TO THE BRAKES LOCKING UP. BECAUSE THE AIRCRAFT BECAME ENVELOPED IN TIRE SMOKE, THE CAPTAIN NOT BEING ABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE SMOKE CALLED ATCT WHO INFORMED THE CREW THAT NO FIRE WAS EVIDENT. THE CREW DEPARTED THE AIRCRAFT AND NO INJURIES WERE INCURRED. THE COPILOT (FLYING PILOT) REPORTED THAT THE LANDING WAS NORMAL UNTIL THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED RESULTING IN THE WHEELS SKIDDING APPROXIMATELY 1000 FEET UNTIL THE TIRES FAILED DUE TO ABRASION. TIRE DEBRIS CAUSED MINOR DAMAGE TO THE LEFT INBOARD FLAP. THE AIRCRAFT WAS OPERATING WITH THE NR 2 ENGNE DRIVEN GENERATOR INOPERATIVE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE MINIMUM EQUIPMENT LIST. THE CREW REPORTED THAT THEY ALSO NOTICED AN "APU FAULT" LIGHT AFTER STOPPING AND WHAT SOUNDED LIKE ELECTRICAL RELAYS CYCLING DURING THE LANDING SEQUENCE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
