## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DURING LANDING FOR RE-FUELING AT 3IS5 (HOLMES AIRPARK) WHERE AN AIR EVAC BASE WITH FUEL IS LOCATED,HELICOPTER N595AE WAS HOVERING TOO CLOSE TO A PARKED AIR EVAC COMPANY HELICOPTER, N101AE, THAT WAS TIED DOWN AND NOT IN OPERATION. N595AE CAME IN CONTACT WITH THE MAIN ROTOR BLADE OF N101AE RESULTING IN CONSIDERABLE DAMAGE TO BOTH AIRCRAFT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN09IA222](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN09IA222), Mar 17, 2009: Bell 206 (N595AE), Springfield, IL, incident, minor damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain clearance from the parked helicopter.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
