## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) FLIGHT 2035, RETURNED TO FIELD AND LANDED ON RUNWAY 10L FOLLOWING INDICATIONS OF THE SMELL OF SMOKE IN THE COCKPIT AND CABIN, AS WELL AS THE ILLUMINATION OF THE "LAV SMOKE WARNING" INDICATOR. MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL DETERMINED THAT THE SMELL OF SMOKE WAS EMANATING FROM THE NUMBER 2 ENGINE. ENGINE WAS REPLACED BY MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL AND AIRCRAFT N34110 WAS RETURNED TO SERVICE. A SERVICE DIFFICULTY REPORT AND MECHANICAL INTERRUPTION REPORT WERE FILED BY THE AIRLINE AS REQUIRED BY REGULATION.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
