DURING THE LAST PHASE OF FLIGHT AND AT APPROXIMATELY 10 FT IN ALTITUDE ABOVE THE LANDING SURFACE AND AS THE NOSE OF THE AIRCRAFT WAS APPROACHING THE HELIDECT WITH APPROXIMATELY 10 KTS OF FORWARD AIRSPEED AND APPROXIMATELY 80 PERCENT ENGINE TORQUE APPLIED, THE PILOT APPLIED LEFT PEDDLE TO STRAIGHTEN THE NOSE FOR LANDING AND SHORTLY THEREAFTER, A SHUDDER OF THE AIRFRAME WAS FELT CAUSED BY NOSE FOR LANDING AND SHORTLY THEREAFTER, A SHUDDER OF THE AIRFRAME WAS FELT CAUSED BY TURBULENCE. THE AIRCRAFT BEGAN TO SETTLE. THE FLYING PILOT IMMEDIATELY ADVANCED THE COLLECTIVE TO ARREST THE SETTLE AND STOPPED THE TORQUE INCREASE AT APPROXIMATELY 103% ATTEMPTING TO PREVENT AN OVER TORQUE. THE AIRCRAFT CONTINUED TO SETTLE MAKING CONTACT WITH THE OUTER RING/EDGE OF THE HELIDECK. IN DOING SO AND BECAUSE OF THE FORWARD AIRSPEED, THE RIGHT MAIN LANDING GEAR, BEING AFT OF THE HELIDECK EDGE, COLLAPSED. THE AIRCRAFT BEGAN A ROLLING MOTION TO THE RIGHT AND WAS HALTED BY APPLYING LEFT CYCLIC. THE AIRCRAFT COLLECTIVE WAS LOWERED, ALLOWING THE PILOT NOT FLYING TO RETARD THE THROTTLES TO ZERO, AND APPLY THE MAIN ROTOR BRAKE, STOPPING THE MAIN ROTOR SYSTEM. THE PASSENGERS WERE UNLOADED; NO INJURIES WERE SUSTAINED TO ANY INDIVIDUAL ABOARD THE AIRCRAFT. THE WEATHER WAS VFR; THE WIND WAS VARIABLE AT 8 TO 12 KTS WITH GUSTS OF APPROXIMATELY 20 KTS. THE SEA STATE AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT WAS APPROXIMATELY 8-10 FEET. THE AIRCRAFT WAS OPERATING ON A COMPANY FLIGHT PLAN.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
