## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PILOT WAS EXECUTING TOUCH AND GOES FOR THE PURPOSE OF STAYING CURRENT. RUNWAY 1 WAS CLOSED AT 1630 LOCAL. PILOT WAS CLEARED FOR TAKEOFF ON RUNWAY 7 AND COMPLETED TOUCH AND GO ON RUNWAY 7. THEN TOWER SWITCHED RUNWAYS TO RUNWAY 1 WHICH FAVORED THE WIND. PILOT CONTINUED TO MAKE RIGHT TRAFFIC FOR RUNWAY 7, BUT REALIZED THAT HE WAS CLEARED FOR THE OPTION ON RUNWAY 1 AND MADE A SHARP RIGHT TURN TO RUNWAY 1. PILOT STATED THAT HE NOW MADE A STEEP APPROACH TO SHORT FILED LANDING. NORMALLY, HE WOULD CHECK LANDING GEAR OPERATION BY FEELING THE MANUAL EXTENSION LEVER, BUT DID NOT PERFORM THAT CHECK. HE USUALLY DOES A GUMP CHECK ON FINAL APPROACH AND LOOKS FOR THE GREEN LIGHT, BUT DID NOT DO SO THIS TIME. AIRSPEED SEEMED NORAL AND PILOT EXPECTED A GOOD LANDING, BUT THEN HEARD THE PROPELLE SCRAPE THE RUNWAY WHILE FLARING. PILOT NOTED THAT TOWER INSTRUCTED HIM TO MAKE A LEFT TRAFFIC ON FINAL APPROACH.

Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
