## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) DELTA AIRLINES MD-90 AIRCRAFT, REGISTRATION NUMBER N901DA, FLIGHT NUMBER 1220 SCHEDULED TO OPERATE FROM SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, (SLC) TO SANTA ANA, CALIFORNIA, (SNA) ON 03/30/2009, SUSTAINED MINOR DAMAGE TO THE FORWARD LEFT PASSENGER ENTRY DOOR WHEN THE AIRCRAFT ROLLED BACK AND STRUCK THE JET BRIDGE WHILE IT WAS PARKED AT GATE C-5. THE AIRCRAFT WAS BOARDED, CONNECTED TO A TOWBAR AND PUSH TUG AND READY FOR PUSH BACK WHEN THE INCIDENT OCCURRED. NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED. FURTHER INVESTIGATION REVEALED THAT THE PARKING BRAKES WERE NOT SET ON THE AIRCRAFT AND THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WAS NOT PROPERLY SET ON THE PUSH TUG WHEN THE MAIN LANDING GEAR WHEEL CHOCKS WERE REMOVED. AFTER THE INCIDENT, OPERATIONAL CHECKS PERFORMED ON THE AIRCRAFT PARKING BRAKES AND PUSH TUG EMERGENCY BRAKE WAS NORMAL.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
