## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE OWNER/PILOT STATED HE WAS ATTEMPTING TO START HIS J-3 C65 N88064 WITH ONLY THE RIGHT WHEEL CHOCKED. HE WAS EXPERIENCING DIFFICULTIES BUT CONTINUED UNTIL THE AIRPLANE STARTED WITH "UNUSUAL FORCE". AT START THE AIRPLANE JUMPED THE CHOCK AND TRAVELED FORWARD. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ GRABBED THE RIGHT WING STRUT TRYING TO STOP THE AIRPLANE AND WAS KNOCKED TO THE GROUND. THE AIRPLANE TURNED, STRIKING THE HANGAR DOOR CAUSING THE ENGINE TO STOP AND THE AIRPLANE TO RECOIL OFF THE HANGAR DOOR BEFORE COMING TO A STOP.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
