## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) BELLANCA AIRCRAFT N28059 WAS ENROUTE TO FREDERICK MUNICIPAL AIRPORT, FROM MONTGOMERY COUNTY AIRPARK WHEN IT STRUCK A BIRD AT 2500' ALTITUDE. THE AIRCRAFT RETURNED TO MONTGOMERY COUNTY AIRPARK. MOST OF THE WINDSHIELD WAS BROKEN OUT OF THE AIRCRAFT. THE PILOT AND FRONT SEAT PASSENGER WERE INJURED AND WERE TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL WHEN THE AIRCRAFT LANDED AT MONTGOMERY COUNTY AIRPARK. THE BIRD COULD HAVE BEEN A GOOSE OR A HAWK ACCORDING TO PEOPLE AT THE AIRPORT. THE BIRD WAS DISPOSED OF AT THE TIME I WAS THERE TO INSPECT THE AIRCRAFT. THE INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR OF THE AIRCRAFT HAD BEEN CLEANED AT THE TIME I INSPECTED THE AIRCRAFT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
