## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) WHILE ON AN INSTRUCTIONAL FLIGHT, PA-28-140, N6709W, PILOTED BY A STUDENT PILOT AND FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ EXITED THE RIGHT SIDE OF RUNWAY 36 AT THE RICHMOND-MADISON COUNTY AIRPORT (K139) IN RICHMOND, KY, RESULTING IN MINOR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND NO INJURIES. THIS WAS ONLY THE FOURTH FLIGHT IN THIS AIRCRAFT FOR THE INSTRUCTOR AND IT WAS THE FIRST TIME THAT SHE ALLOWED THE STUDENT TO ATTEMPT TO LAND THE AIRCRAFT. AFTER TOUCHDOWN THE AIRCRAFT VEERED TOWARDS THE LEFT AND THEN THE STUDENT OVER CORRECTED TO THE RIGHT RESULTING IN THE AIRCRAFT EXITING THE RUNWAY ON THE RIGHT SIDE NEAR THE MID FIELD POSITION COMING TO REST IN A SHALLOW DITCH. THE INSTRUCTOR STATED THAT THE ENGINE WAS STOPPED PRIOR TO THE IMPACT. THE AIRCRAFT RECEIVED MINOR DAMAGE TO THE COWLING. THE PROPELLER APPEARS TO NOT HAVE COME IN CONTACT WITH THE GROUND AND THERE IS NO EVIDENCE OF SUDDEN ENGINE STOPPAGE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
