## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) WHILE IN TRAFFIC PATTERN FOR CHESTER COUNTY AIRPORT, (MQS), THE PILOT STATES THAT THE LANDING GEAR LEVER WAS PLACED IN THE DOWN POSITION AND THE LANDING GEAR INDICATOR FAILED TO SHOW DOWN AND LOCKED. THE "LANDING GEAR-EMERGENCY OPERATIONS PROCEDURES" LOCATED IN THE AIRCRAFT OWNERS MANUAL WERE FOLLOWED, HOWEVER, THE GEAR INDICATOR STILL FAILED TO SHOW DOWN AND LOCKED. THE AIRCRAFT DIVERTED TO NEW CASTLE COUNTY AIRPORT, (ILG) WHERE AN EMERGENCY WAS DECLARED AND THE PILOT PERFORMED THE "LANDING WITH DEFECTIVE NOSE GEAR CHECKLIST" ALSO LOCATED IN THE AIRCRAFT OWNERS MANUAL. THE AIRCRAFT LANDED WITH THE 2 MAIN GEAR DOWN AND LOCKED AND THE NOSE GEAR RETRACTED. THE AIRCRAFT NOSE, PROPELLER, AND NOSE GEAR DOORS CONTACTED THE RUNWAY AFTER AIRSPEED DIMINISHED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
