## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) WITNESSES REPORTED TO THE DOUGLAS COUNTRY SHERIFF THAT THE PILOT HAD TAKEN FOUR FRIENDS THAT WERE ATTENDING AN OUTDOOR WORKING PARTY ON A LOCAL FLIGHT. THE AIRPLANE MADE TWO OF THREE PASSES OVER THE WORK PARTY. ON THE FINAL PASS WITNESSES REPORTED THAT THE AIRPLANE WAS SLIGHTLY ABOVE THE TOPS OF THE LOCAL HOUSES, BETWEEN 100 AND 300 FEET ABOVE GROUND LEVEL (AGL), AND WAS TRAVELING FROM NORTHWEST TO SOUTHEAST. THE AIRPLANE MADE A SUDDEN STEEP CLIMBING LEFT TURN, APPEARED TO DECELERATE AT THE TOP OF THE CLIMBING TURN, THEN DROPPED TOWARDS THE GROUND NOSE FIRST, AND IMPACTED A GRASS FIELD. THE ENGINE COULD BE HEARD "RUNNING PERFECTLY" THROUGH THE MANEUVER.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR09FA235](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR09FA235), May 9, 2009: Beech 95 (N1533Z), Minden, NV, substantial damage, 5 fatal. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain an adequate airspeed while maneuvering during a low altitude maneuver that resulted in a stall.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
