## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT IN COMMAND STATED THAT UPON LANDING AT MADERA AIRPORT (MAE) ON RUNWAY 30 WITH THE WINDS AT 280/9, THE AIRCRAFT HAD A TENDENCY OF WANTING TO STEER TO THE RIGHT WHEN THE NOSE GEAR CONTACTED THE RUNWAY. THE PILOT APPLIED LEFT RUDDER BUT WAS NOT EFFECTIVE IN STOPPING THIS TENDENCY. THE AIRCRAFT VEERED OFF THE RUNWAY CROSSING INTO A TAXIWAY AND EVENTUALLY SHEARING OFF THE NOSE WHEEL TIRE AND STEERING COMPONENTS. THE NOSE GEAR HAD FOLDED FROM ITS MOUNTING POINTS ON THE FIREWALL STRUCTURE CAUSING WRINKLES IN THIS AREA. THERE WAS FURTHER DAMAGE OBSERVED UNDER THE NOSE AND CABIN STRUCTURES.
