## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AIRCRAFT DEPARTED FROM RUNWAY 18 AT LAKE CITY AIRPORT. THE AIRCRAFT HAD APPROXIMATELY 7 GALLONS OF FUEL. THE PILOT AND PASSENGER COMBINED WERE 400 LBS. WITH LIGHT WINDS OUT OF THE WEST,THE AIRCRAFT LIFTED OFF THE TURF STRIP AND STARTED TO DRIFT TOWARD THE TREES ON THE WEST SIDE OF THE RUNWAY. THE PILOT CORRECTED TO THE LEFT AND STALLED THE WING. THE LEFT WING IMPACTED THE GROUND, LAYING THE FUSELAGE ON ITS SIDE. THE PILOT BROKE HER ARM AND THE PASSENGER WAS UNINJURED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN09CA334](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN09CA334), May 23, 2009: Aerotrike Safari (N8035W), Lake City, MI, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain adequate airspeed during the initial climb.
