## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DURING THE SHORT FLIGHT FROM FALLBROOK AIRPARK TO OCEANSIDE AIRPORT, THE PILOT NOTICED THAT THE RT CHT GAUGE ROSE ABOVE NORMAL LEVELS. BECAUSE THE AIRMAN WAS CLOSER TO CAMP PENDLETON AIRPORT AT THE TIME HIS INITIAL REACTION WAS TO HEAD FOR PENDLETON AND LAND THERE. THE AIRMAN STATED THAT WHILE ALL THIS WAS GOING ON HE FAILED TO CONTACT CAMP PENDLETON'S AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL TOWER AND SUBSEQUENCLY FLEW INTO THEIR "CLASS D" AIRSPACE. AS HE MADE DIFFERENT THROTTLE SERTTINGS THE PROBLEM SEEMED TO CLEAR UP. THE AIRMAN DECIDED HE COULD MAKE IT TO OCEANSIDE SAFELY WHERE HE LANDED AND WAS CONTACTED BY THE CAMP PENDLETON TRAINING CHIEF.
