## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THIS LIGHT-SPORT JABIRU WAS BEING FLOWN BY A STUDENT PILOT ON HIS FIRST SUPERVISED SOLO. ON THE THIRD LANDING, AFTER ALL THREE WHEELS TOUCHED DOWN, THE AIRCRAFT VEERED TO THE RIGHT. THE STUDENT PILOT APPLIED LEFT RUDDER WITH NO EFFECT. THIS AIRCRAFT HAS NOSE WHEEL STEERING BUT NO DIFFERENTIAL BRAKING. THE RIGHT MAIN WHEEL AND THE NOSE WHEEL WENT OFF THE SIDE OF THE RUNWAY INTO A SHALLOW DRAINAGE DITCH. THE PROP HIT THE ASPHALT AND CAME TO A STOP. NO OTHER DAMAGE WAS FOUND. THE STUDENT PILOT ADMITTED THAT AFTER THE GEARS TOUCHED DOWN, RELEASED, AND LET HIS FEET SLIP A BIT UP ON THE STEERING/RUDDER BAR. THIS ACTION LIMITED THE AMOUNT OF RUDDER/STEERING INPUT THAT WAS AVAILABLE DUE TO THE CLOSE PROXIMITY OF THE RUDDER/STEERING BAR TO THE FIREWALL.

Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
