## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PILOT WAS ATTEMPTING TO LAND ON CAMP LAKE TO THE SOUTH. HE CHOSE A VERY NARROW PART OF THE LAKE TO LAND. HE BOUNCED THE LANDING AND AIRCRAFT TURNED 45 DEGREES TO THE LEFT WHILE AIRBOURNE. HE APPLIED FULL POWER, BUT REALIZED HE WAS FACING THE BANK WITH TREES AND WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO CLIMB OVER THEM. HE THEN PULLED THE POWER AND SET THE PLANE DOWN AND HIT THE SHORE BETWEEN TWO TREES CRUSHING THE 2 WINGS.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN09CA357](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN09CA357), Jun 14, 2009: Aviat A1 (N190BA), Garrison, MN, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's improper flare, which resulted in a hard landing on the water and subsequent loss of control.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
