## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON THE TAKEOFF ROLL OF A MULTIENGINE INSTRUCTIONAL FLIGHT, THE FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR SIMULATED A FAILURE OF THE LEFT ENGINE BY CUTTING THE LEFT MIXTURE. THE STUDENT DID NOT REACT QUICKLY ENOUGH TO CLOSE THE THROTTLES, AND THE FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR FAILED TO INTERVENE BEFORE LOSS OF CONTROL OCCURRED. THE AIRCRAFT LEFT THE RUNWAY SURFACE AT A 45-DEGREE ANGLE RESULTING IN DAMAGE TO THE NOSE GEAR ATTACH STRUCTURE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
