## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

WHILE PRACTICING ENGINE FAILURE PROCEDURES THE, PILOT IN COMMAND (PIC), IN THE REAR SEAT, LOST CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT AND CRASHED INTO A SOYBEAN FIELD. THE PIC ALLEGES THAT WHEN HE APPLIED POWER TO RECOVER FROM THE PROCEDURE AT APPROXIMATELY 150 FT ABOVE GROUND LEVEL, THE ENGINE DID NOT RESPOND UNTIL JUST PRIOR TO GROUND CONTACT WHEN IT SURGED AND CAUSED THE AIRCRAFT TO YAW SO MUCH THAT HE COULD NOT OVERCOME IT. HE STATES THAT HE FEELS THAT TOUCHING DOWN IN THIS CRABBED CONDITION CAUSED THE RIGHT MAIN GEAR ATTACHMENT TO FAIL. THE AIRCRAFT WAS SUBSTANTIALLY DAMAGED.
