## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AIRCRAFT N1064D LANDED AT THE LINCOLN, CA (LHM) AIRPORT AT APPROXIMATELY 1100 HRS ON 6/30/09. SHORTLY AFTER TOUCHDOWN, THE LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR SEPARATED FROM THE AIRCRAFT AND CAME TO REST ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY APPROXIMATELY 500 FEET FROM THE APPROACH END OF THE RUNWAY 15. THE RUNWAY MARKINGS INDICATE THAT THE LEFT WING CONTACTED THE RUNWAY SHORTLY THEREAFTER AND THE PROPELLER STRUCK THE RUNWAY AS THE AIRCRAFT VEERED OFF THE RUNWAY APPROXIMATELY 150 FEET FROM THE POINT OF THE LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR SEPARATION. THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST ON AN UNPREPARED AREA ADJACENT THE RUNWAY. THE PILOT INDICATED THAT THE APPROACH WAS NORMAL AND THE WIND WAS DIRECTLY DOWN THE RUNWAY. AFTER TOUCHDOWN, HE FELT SOMETHING HAPPENED IN THAT THE AIRCRAFT STARTED VEERING TO THE LEFT AND THE LEFT WING DIPPED. HE TRIED TO CONTROL THE AIRCRAFT BUT COULD NOT AND THE AIRCRAFT DEPARTED THE RUNWAY THEN THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO A REST.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR09CA319](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR09CA319), Jun 30, 2009: Cessna LC-126C (N1064D), Lincoln, CA, substantial damage. Probable cause: A fatigue crack in the left main landing gear strut resulting in the collapse of the strut during the landing roll.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
