## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON 07/01/2009 AT 12:06 PM 100 GALLONS OF JET A WAS PUT INTO THE AIRCRAFT BY THE PILOT. AT 12:46 PM THE WASHINGTON COUNTY COMMUNICATIONS CENTER RECEIVED A 911 REPORT OF A SMALL PLANE DESCRIBED AS A CROP DUSTER THAT HAD CRASHED IN A FIELD IN THE ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^. FIRST REPSONDERS REPORTED FUEL AND NITROGEN LEAKING FROM THE AIRCRAFT. THE PILOT WAS INTERVIEWED AND STATED THAT HE HAD LOST POWER PRIOR TO THE ACCIDENT. DAMAGE INDICATED THE ENGINE WAS NOT PRODUCING POWER WHEN IT IMPACTED THE GROUND. FUEL WAS FOUND ON BOARD THE AIRCRAFT AND IN THE AREA AROUND THE AIRCRAFT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN09LA403](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN09LA403), Jul 1, 2009: Ayres S2R-G6 (N60015), Ainsworth, IA, substantial damage. Probable cause: A component failure of the fuel control unit, which resulted in a loss of engine power.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
