## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ AND ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WERE ON A TRAINING FLIGHT FROM WHP TO THE FILLMORE AREA, THEN BACK TO SHP. RETURNING FROM FILLMORE, OVER STEVENSON RANCH, THERE WAS A LOUD BANG. THE PILOTS THEN NOTICCED THAT THE PROPELLER BLADES HAD SEPARATED FROM THE AIRCRAFT. FLORINE TURNED THE AIRCRAFT TO THE NORTH AND MADE AN EMERGENCY LANDING IN A FIELD SOUTH WEST OF MAGIC MOUNTAIN VALENCIA. THE AIRCRAFT WAS DAMAGED DURING THE LANDING ATTEMPT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR09LA340](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR09LA340), Jul 7, 2009: Bender Kitfox (N926JB), Valencia, CA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The failure and separation of a propeller blade for undetermined reasons.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
