## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON JULY 12, 2009 THE INSTRUCTOR WAS INSTRUCTING STUDENT PILOT IN N408RA, A REMOS G-3, A LIGHT SPORT CATEGORY AIRPLANE AT ERIE, COLRADO TRI-COUNTY AIRPORT. THE STUDENT MADE A ROUGH LANDING AND BOUNCED INTO THE AIR AT WHICH TIME THE INSTRUCTOR ORDERED A GO-AROUND. THE INSTRUCTOR THEN TOOK OVER THE CONTROLS AND STATED THE AIRCRAFT WAS NOT RESPONDING AND MAY HAVE BEEN STALLED. THE AIRCRAFT DRIFTED OVER THE GRASS BESIDE THE RUNWAY AND THE PROPELLER HIT A RUNWAY LIGHT AND TAXIWAY SIGN. THE PROPELLER WAS BROKEN, THE HORIZONTAL STABILIZER, VERTICAL STABILIZER, AND LEFT LANDING GEAR WERE DAMAGED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. WEATHER WAS NOT A FACTOR.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN09CA432](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN09CA432), Jul 12, 2009: Remos Remos G-3/ (N408RA), Erie, CO, substantial damage. Probable cause: The student pilot's improper recovery from a bounced landing and the flight instructor's delayed reaction to take control and recover.
