## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PILOT SCRAPED WINGTIP ON FENCE FOR SEVERAL FEET BEFORE CATCHING THE WINGTIP ON A FENCEPOST, PUNCTURING THE WINGTIP AND CAUSING THE AIRCRAFT TO PIVOT FROM THE PUNCTURE AREA. THE AIRCRAFT PROPELLER CAME INTO CONTACT WITH THE FENCE LIFTING IT OUT OF THE GROUND. THE FENCE CAME TO REST ON THE AIRCRAFT NOSE, DAMAGING THE PROPELLER AND SCRATCHING THE NOSE COWL. PILOT THOUGHT THAT A CRACK IN THE TARMAC HAD COUGHT THE WHEEL AND CAUSED THE AIRCRAFT TO SPIN, HOWEVER POST INCIDENT EXAMINATION OF THE SIDE REVEALED DAMAGE, CONTACT MARKS, SCRATCHES, AND PAINT TRANSFER PRIOR TO THE CRACK IN THE TARMAC.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
