## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) STUDENT PILOT ON SOLO FLIGHT EXPERIENCED A HARD LANDING DURING THE FLARE TO TOUCHDOWN ON RUNWAY 19 AT TRK. TWO INSTRUCTORS OBSERVING THE LANDING STATED THAT THE GLIDER APPEARED LOW AND SLOW DURING THE APPROACH. THEY ALSO STATED THAT THE GLIDER LANDED ON THE RUNWAY, NOSE LOW.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR09CA359](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR09CA359), Jul 19, 2009: Schweizer SGS-2-33A (N65825), Truckee, CA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The student pilot's failure to maintain adequate airspeed to avoid a stall during final approach to land. Contributing to the accident was the pilot’s lack of experience.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
