## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT N39DX TOOK OFF FROM COLUMBUS AIRPORT (CSG) AND WAS PRACTICING TOUCH AND GO PROCEDURES. DURING CLIMB FROM THE SECOND TOUCH AND GO, THE PILOT REPORTED TO THE TOWER THAT HE HAD A PROBLEM. THE AIRCRAFT WAS AIR-BORNE AND APPROACHING THE END OF THE RUNWAY WHEN IT VEERED TO THE RIGHT AND LOST ATTITUDE. THE RIGHT WING STRUCK THE SIDE OF A MAINTENANCE BUILDING ABOUT 15 FEET ABOVE THE GROUND, THEN HIT THE TOP OF A UTILITY SHED BEFORE COLLIDING WITH A PARKED AIRPORT TRACTOR.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA09LA412](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA09LA412), Jul 19, 2009: James O'Bert Vari-Eze (N39DX), Columbus, GA, substantial damage, 1 fatal. Probable cause: The pilots improper fuel management, which resulted in a loss of engine power due to fuel starvation.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
