## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

SHORTLY AFTER TAKE-OFF, ON THE SECOND LEG OF A CROSSCOUNTRY FLIGHT TO 8A1 FOR REFUELING,THE PILOT NOTICED THE WINDS STEADILY INCREASING AND FUEL COMSUMPTION WAS AT MUCH GREATER RATE THAN NORMAL. NEAREST AIRFIELD WAS 8A1. WHILE ON APPROACH TO RWY 03, AN AIRCRAFT TAXIED ONTO ACTIVE RWY FOR TAKE-OFF. PILOT INITIATED A GO AROUND AND WHILE TURNING DOWN WIND FOR ANOTHER APPROACH TO RWY 03, THE AIRCRAFT LOST POWER DUE TO FUEL STARVATION. PILOT ELECTED TO FLAT STALL THE AIRCRAFT INTO A THICK LAYER OF TREES. PILOT AND PASSENGER EXITED AIRCRAFT WITH NO INJURIES.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
