## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE GLIDER MADE A HARD LANDING SHORT OF RUNWAY 30 AT FARIBAULT MUNICIPAL AIRPORT, WHICH WAS ALSO THE DEPARTURE POINT. IT THEN BOUNCED AND LANDED ON A TAXIWAY WHERE THE MAIN GEAR SEPERATED AND THE RIGHT WINGTIP STRUCK THE PAVEMENT SHEARING THE WINGTIP WHEEL. THE GLIDER THEN TURNED 90 DEGREES TO THE RIGHT AND SLID AN ADDITIONAL 100 FEET INTO THE GRASS AND STOPPED. THE EMPANNAGE OF THE GLIDER WAS BROKEN OFF APPROXIMATELY 6 FEET FROM THE AFT END OF THE AIRCRAFT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN09CA475](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN09CA475), Jul 26, 2009: Glasflugel Standard Libelle (N3872), Faribault, MN, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's inability to maintain proper airspeed on approach to land.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
