## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT DEPARTED ELDORA AIRPORT (6C0) AND TRAVELED TO IOWA FALLS AIRPORT (IFA). HE STATED HE WAS TRANSMITTING ON UNICOM 122.8; HOWEVER NONE OF THE WITNESS STATMENTS COULD SUPPORT THIS. HE WAS ON LEFT HAND APPROACH TO IOWA FALLS AIRPORT, AND ON SHORT FINAL TO RUNWAY 31 WHEN HIS AIRCRAFT WAS STRUCK FROM ABOVE BY A CESSNA 182 AT APPROXIMATELY 40 FEET AGL, ALSO ON SHORT FINAL FOR IOWA FALLS. NEITHER PILOT REPORTED SEEING EACH OTHER.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN09LA491](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN09LA491), Jul 31, 2009: Mooney M20C (N3206F), Iowa Falls, IA, substantial damage. Probable cause: Both pilots' failure to execute adequate visual lookout, resulting in the two airplanes colliding over the runway.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
