## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THIS WAS A NIGHT FLIGHT FROM CMA TO SNA. THE PILOT DISCOVERED AFTER TAKEOFF FROM CMA THAT THE LANDING GEAR WOULD NOT RETRACT. THE LANDING GEAR UP AND LOCKED LIGHT WOULD NOT ILLUMINATE AND THE PILOT HEARD THE LANDING GEAR ACTUATOR CYCLING, BUT WOULD NOT FULLY RETRACT THE LANDING GEAR. HE PLACED THE GEAR HANDLE IN THE DOWN POSITION AND CONTINUED TO SNA. THE PILOT NOTIFIED THE SNA TOWER OF A POTENTIAL LANDING GEAR PROBLEM AND A HELICOPTER IN THE AREA CONFIRMED THE MAIN LANDING GEAR WAS NOT FULLY EXTENDED. THE PILOT ATTEMPTED TO MANUALLY EXTEND THE LANDING GEAR. THE LANDING GEAR WOULD NOT EXTEND. THE PILOT STATED HE REVIEWED HIS GEAR UP LANDING PROCEDURES IN THE POH AND MADE 2 PRACTICE RUNS ON RUNWAY 19L. HE LANDED THE AIRCAFT ON THE 3RD PASS WITH THE NOSE GEAR EXTENDED AND THE MAINS PARTIALLY EXTENDED. THE AIRCRAFT LANDED ON THE NOSE WHEEL AND THE TIE DOWN EYELET ON THE BOTTOM OF THE TAIL SECTION OF THE AIRCRAFT. THERE WAS MINOR DAMAGE TO THE BOTTOM AFT SECTION OF THE AIRCRAFT AND THE RIGHT HORIZONTAL STAB.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
