## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT DEPARTED CARTER ULTRALIGHT AIR PARK AND MIS-CALCULATED HIS TAKE OFF PERFORMANCE AND COULD NOT CLEAR THE OBSTACLES AT THE END OF THE AIRPORT. THE PILOT CLIMBED STEEP AND EXECUTED A LH TURN TO AVOID OBSTACLES, THIS RESULTED IN A AERODYNAMIC STALL AND THE AIRCRAFT SUBSEQUENTLY IMPCATED TREES AND CAME TO REST IN A FIELD ADJACENT TO THE AIRPORT. THE PILOT REPORTED NO LOSS OF ENGINE POWER.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA09LA451](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA09LA451), Aug 8, 2009: Engle David TWO Place (N9259F), Manlius, NY, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain adequate airspeed during climbout, resulting in an aerodynamic stall.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
