## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

WHILE LANDING ON RUNWAY 33 AT WEST HOUSTON AIRPORT (IWS) A CESSNA 421A HIT HARD ON THE RIGHT MAIN LANDING GEAR. THE IMPACT CAUSED THE RIGHT HAND MAIN GEAR STRUT BOLTS TO SHEER. THE RIGHT HAND ENGINE PROPELLER TO MAKE CONTACT WITH THE RUNWAY. THE AIRCRAFT VEERED TO THE RIGHT, AND LEFT THE RUNWAY SURFACE; THE AIRCRAFT TRAVELED ACROSS A TAXI WAY AND INTO A DRAINAGE DITCH. THE RIGHT HAND MAIN GEAR COLLAPSED AND THE NOSE GEAR WAS TWISTED TO THE LEFT BEFORE COMING TO A STOP IN THE DITCH.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
