## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE INSTRUCTOR PILOT STATED THAT HE WAS PERFORMING A SIMULATED EMERGENCY OVER LOS BANOS AIRFIELD. THE STUDENT PILOT FORGOT TO LOWER THE LANDING GEAR. AFTER THE PILOT MADE A TURN TOWARDS THE AIRFIELD HE OVERSHOT THE FINAL APPROACH COURSE. AT THIS TIME THE INSTRUCTOR TOOK OVER THE FLIGHT CONTROLS BUT IGNORED THE LANDING GEAR HORN WHICH WAS INDICATING THAT THE GEAR WAS NOT LOWERED. THE AIRCRAFT'S PROPELLER MADE CONTACT WITH THE RUNWAY SURFACE FOLLOWED BY THE AIRCRAFT SKIDDING TO A STOP, RESULTING IN A GEAR UP LANDING.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
