## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE 80 HOUR PRIVATE PILOT OCCUPIED THE RIGHT SEAT WHILE THE PASSENGER WHO HAPPENED TO BE A STUDENT PILOT AS WELL OCCUPIED THE LEFT SEAT OF HIS FATHERS AIRCRAFT. IT APPEARS THAT THE PIC LOST CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT WHILE ATTTEMPING ANOTHER TOUCH AND GO ON RUNWAY 9R. THE AIRCRAFT VEERED TO THE RIGHT CROSSING THE WIDTH OF RUNWAY 9R FROM LEFT TO RIGHT, HIT A TAXI LIGHT AND AN AIRPORT SIGN, THEN CONTINUED ON THE GROUND THEN FLYING OVER A DITCH AND ENDING UP WITH THE NOSE OF THE AIRCRAFT EMBEDDED INTO A 45 DEGREE EMBANKMENT SOME 580 FEET FROM THE SIGN.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA09LA458](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA09LA458), Aug 11, 2009: Beech BE-23 (N9261S), Sanford, FL, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain directional control during takeoff.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
