## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ TOOK HIS FAMILY FOR AN UNAUTHORIZED AIRCRAFT FLIGHT AROUND THE WENATCHEE AREA. HE TOOK THE AIRCRAFT WITHOUT THE KNOWLEDGE, DISPATCH OR PERMISSION OF THE COMPANY THAT OWNS THE AIRACRAFT. HE STATED THAT HE MADE A PASS OVER THE MISION RIDGE SKI RESORT AT ABOUT 500 FEET BUT WAS DISSATISFIED WITH THE ALTITUDE AND RETURNED FOR A LOWER PASS. HE MISJUDGED THE DISTANCE FROM THE GROUND AND HAD TO BANK AWAY FROM THE MOUNTAIN TO AVOID HITTING THE GROUND. WHILE HE WAS IN THAT BANK HIS LEFT WING CONTACTED A TREE. HE THEN FLEW TO THE WENATCHEE AIRPORT AND LANDED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR09CA403](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR09CA403), Aug 17, 2009: Rockwell 690 (N90AT), Wenatchee, WA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain situational awareness, and thus clearance from objects, while operating at low altitude.

## Other reports on N90AT (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19930908050819I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19930908050819I), Sep 8, 1993: Gulstm 690A (N90AT), Houston, TX, Minor damage. Left gear collapsed on engine startup. Found gear handle in up position. Pilot counseled on checklists.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
