## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

WHILE PRACTICING TOUCH AND GO'S IN THE PATERN AT THE LAKEVIEW AIRPORT, AT APPROXIMATELY 1745 ON FINAL APPROACH TO RUNWAY 30 FOR THE THIRD LANDING AN INITIAL FLARE WAS PERFORMED. THE GYROCOPTER BALLOONED SLIGHTLY AT ABOUT 5 FEET OFF THE RUNWAY. THE PILOT ADDED POWER, THE AIRCRAFT YAWED TO THE RIGHT, THE PILOT ADDED LEFT RUDDER. THE TAIL WHEEL TOUCHED DOWN AND THE HARD FLARE WAS PERFORMED. THE AIRCRAFTS NOSE SPUN HARD LEFT WHEN THE MAIN WHEELS TOUCHED WHICH TIPPED THE AIRCRAFT TO THE RIGHT. THE AIRCRAFT ENDED UP ON ITS RIGHT SIDE ON THE NORTH SIDE OF RUNWAY 30.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN09CA539](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN09CA539), Aug 17, 2009: Dunn David RAF 2000 C (N2107), Lakeville, MN, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain control of the aircraft during the landing flare.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
