THE AIRCRAFT FLIPPED OVER AND WAS SUBSTANTIALLY DAMAGED. THE PILOT STATED THAT GUSTY WINDS AND DENSITY ALTITUDE MAY HAVE BEEN A FACTOR.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ANC09CA085](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ANC09CA085), Aug 20, 2009: Cessna 140 (N72518), Fairbanks, AK, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to achieve a proper touchdown point, resulting in an overrun and a nose over.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System.
