## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) FLIGHT DEPARTED LONGMOUNT, CO (KLMO) WITH DESTINATION OF SALT LAKE CITY, UT. APPROX 40 MIN INTO THE FLIGHT THE PILOT REPORTED A LOOSE ENGINE COWLING AT ATC AND DECLARED AN EMERGENCY WITH DENVER CENTER. PILOT REQUESTED TO LAND AT NEAREST AIRPORT. ATC ADVISED HIM THAT GRANDBY, CO (KGNB) WAS CLOSEST, PILOT REQUESTED VECTORS AND TURN TO THE HEADING DENVER CENTER GAVE HIM. DENVER CENTER INFORMED N720DW THROUGH A RELAY WITH AN AI CARRIER THAT GRANDY (KGNB) WAS NOTAMED CLOSED AND GAVE PILOT ANOTHER OPTION OF KREMMLING, CO WHICH WAS APPROX 25 MILES AWAY. PILOT REQUESTED TO CONTINUE TO GRANBY. DENVER CENTER CONTACTED GRANBY AIRPORT MANAGER AND DETERMIN THAT 2500 FEET WERE AVAILABLE. PILOT CONTINUED TO GRANBY AND LANDED WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
